For Joy Widerman, farming is a passion she grew up with that fuels her to this day. The same goes for her family members who co-own and operate Jobo Holstein Farm in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
Multiple generations of the family work together to care for the cows, the land and the members of their community. While Widerman spends most of her time with the livestock, her sister organizes educational field trips for students to connect with the animals that produce their milk.
Widerman tours chef and culinary farmer Courtney Guerra, then they share a farm-fresh meal that even a midwestern summer storm can’t hamper.
