Big news:
Truterra was just named to Fast Company’s 2023 World Changing Ideas.
Each year, these awards honor the businesses, policies, projects and concepts that are pursuing innovation when it comes to solving health and climate crises, social injustice, or economic inequality, and this year Truterra received honorable mention in the Sustainability/Energy category.
As part of the award submission, Truterra’s grant submission for USDA’s Partnerships for Climate-Smart Commodities was referenced for how it will further extend Truterra’s conservation delivery system to support farmers’ transitions to climate-smart and sustainable agriculture practices at scale.
Over 5 years, Truterra intends to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by approximately 6.9 million metric tonnes CO2e and reach 20,000 farmers thanks to a strong network of private, public and non-profit partners. This not only includes Land O’Lakes’ agricultural retailer and farmer cooperative network, but also American Farmland Trust, Black Family Land Trust and Federation of Southern Cooperatives.
